January 2012 Meeting Notes.

Hello dear ITRR friends,

We met at Golden Corral, Midwest City, for our monthly meeting. We opened up with the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag, and were led in prayer by Rusty Stowe.

Everyone that attended the New Year’s Eve party at Tamara and CW’s said it was a great party.

Phyllis discussed the Oklahoma Grand Tour and that we have until April 2012 to finish it and turn in to Wayne.

50/50 Drawing - Rusty and Rita won $15

Robert won two $5 drawings and a free Golden Corral buffet on the last drawing (something fishy here)

Thursday dinner ride will be on Jan 26th and will be hosted by Gary and Vinia. Meet at the designated restaurant @ 6:30.

Dinner and a movie is Saturday, Jan 14th. We will meet at Earl’s BBQ in Moore just south of the Wal-Mart @ 3:00pm. We will go to the Warren Theater to see War Horse. I am not sure of the time yet at the movies but should be about 5:00pm-ish.

We discussed loosening up before riding. A little stretching never hurt anyone. There was also discussion regarding the braking systems on the older Goldwings. Check with Oklahoma Honda if you are concerned about your bike.

We discussed doing the ITRR Biggest Loser. I am working on the details and should have monthly journals to pass out for those participating. Participation fee would be $10 per person for the year. We will weigh monthly and ‘biggest loser’ will get a prize @ the following monthly meeting. I will have it all sorted out by next meeting. Be prepared to weigh and pay your $10. We may have several ‘Biggest Losers’!!!! YEA

Tamara and CW said they signed up for a Country and Western Dance class at Rose State College on Friday nights. You can sign up for this class at the Tom Steed Center at Rose State College. So, get up out of that chair on Friday nights and kick your heels up!

Don Chaffin is having a Super Bowl party at his house on Sunday, Feb 5, 2012. Don is providing the eats (brisket, ribs, etc), but you may bring a dish if you want. Eating will begin about 4:00. Don will provide directions to his house for those that wish to attend.

We elected new officers for the 2012 year.

CW and Tamara - President
Don Chaffin - Vice President
Treasurer - Phyllis
Secretary - Vinia
Safety - Wayne

Our club could use some help with members. We are dwindling down to just a few in our group. Please remember to invite new folks to attend our meetings and join us on our dinner rides.

Thanks, and see you Saturday for ‘Dinner and a Movie’.

December 2011 Meeting Notes
December 3, 2011

We met at Golden Corral, Midwest City, for our monthly meeting.
We opened up with the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag, and were led in prayer by Don Chaffin.

It was reported that a great party was held at the Stowe's church on December 2.  Thanks to all who planned and participated!

Sid Ray reminded us all to check our wiring on the lights that we might use on Christmas trees and on the outside of our homes.

Free buffet at Golden Corral was won by Benny & Bobby, and towels/polish winners were Benny & Bobby, Linda & Steve, and Phillip!

There is still time to finish up the Grand Tour - through the end of April.  Hopefully, some decent riding days will be available to us.

Dinner ride this month is December 15 - hosted by the Stowe's.  Make sure to check the Oklahoma Honda Suzuki website for location.

Vinia presented a gift from the craft village in Arkansas to Phyllis.

Chuck reminded everyone that they would be getting a letter recalling a recall on all Honda 1800 motorcycles - something about the interlocking brake system!

Birthdays being celebrated this month:  David, Larna, Gerald, and Rusty.
Happy anniversary to George and Larna.

Phillip reported the birth of Caleb McIntire on November 8....10 lb 6 oz, 22 inches.  Baby and Mom are doing well.

Phyllis reminded us to start thinking about the spring and fall trips...length of trip definitely needs to be considered.

Vinia is going to check on dinner and movie after Christmas.  Seems to be a lot of interest in the movie WAR HORSE...

Next meeting will be January 7.  Officer elections will be held, so be thinking of where you want to serve.    In case of icy weather, the meeting will be moved to the following Saturday (Jan 14).  Definitely will need a new reporter for next year...not sure how often Kelly and I will be able to attend, so someone will definitely need to step into that role.

A very Merry Christmas to all!
and stay safe!

Respectfully,

Happy August to everyone,

Our meeting was opened by a prayed led by Rusty Stowe and the Pledge of Allegiance led by David & Phyllis Chappell.

We started off on a very somber note...we had news that Sid Ray's brother, James Ray, had been in a motorcycle accident on Friday. It is thought that he may have some paralysis. James in currently at the OU Medical Center. Sid stopped by briefly during the meeting to give us more details regarding the accident and to say that he was on his way to pick up his father and bring him back here. Please remember Sid's family as they deal with this horrible accident. Your prayers are much appreciated.

We celebrated two anniversaries and one birthday this month. August 1 was the 41st anniversary for Rusty and Rita Stowe, and August 14 will be Chuck and Jean Cantwell's 51st anniversary. On August 16, Chuck will be celebrating his 73rd birthday. Best wishes and congratulations to all.
